Dormant Mimecast Account

The existing Mimecast account had been in place for many years, primarily supporting a single business, and was largely dormant. Multiple group companies operated independently with numerous email-enabled domains, resulting in fragmented security, archiving, and inconsistent policy application.

Re-Implementation

The dormant Mimecast account was reconfigured into a group-wide email security platform covering multiple Exchange Online tenants, domains, and subdomains. The implementation included reconfiguring policies, profiles, and settings to operate at a group level, integrating multiple SSO solutions via Okta, Entra, and locally within Mimecast to ensure continuity and archive access. The platform now provides consistent email security, gateway filtering, and archiving across all group companies.

Platform Improvement

Mimecast is now established as a group-wide platform, enhancing security and compliance while complementing the Darktrace EMAIL solution and replacing varying licensing levels of Microsoft Defender (SafeLinks, Safe Attachments, etc.). Future plans include implementing a DMARC Analyser tool across all group domains to further strengthen email security and domain protection.
